Review of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for Gamecube

This’ll be a review of “Sonic Adventure 2: Battle” for the Nintendo Gamecube.

Sound: Good music. Upbeat, catchy melodies that go along really well with whatever level you’re playing. The voice actors are great as well, portraying each character perfectly. Sound: 8.5/10

Presentation: The graphics aren’t too impressive from a technical viewpoint, but the wide variety of environments that range from lush forests to colossal space stations make up for any graphical shortcomings in the game. Presentation: 9/10

Gameplay: A wide variety of gameplay styles. With Sonic and Shadow, you get the fast paced, loop-de-loop speed levels you expect. With Eggman and Tails, you battle your way through hordes of enemies in bulky robot battle-armor. And with Knuckles and Rouge, you get treasure hunting levels. Overall, the variety is nice, but the Sonic and Shadow levels are still by far the most fun. All modes have solid controls, and good camera angles. Gameplay: 8/10

Multiplayer: It’s okay. It has a bigger range of playable characters, and exclusive two-player levels, but overall it’s just not as fun as the single-player story mode. Multiplayer: 7/10

Length: This game has two very lengthy (but still fun) story modes. And once both the hero and dark story modes are completed, you unlock the final story which combines both in an epic array of final bosses. On top of that, there’s a bonus mode where you can raise your own Chao, which is shockingly addictive. Length: 9.5/10

Overall: This game gets an 8.4/10! A great game with loads of depth, variety and fun gameplay. I highly recommend it to any gamer.
