Review of Wii Sports Resort by Nintendo

Wii Sports Resort is the game that shows off Nintendo’s shiny new peripheral, the “Wii Motion-Plus”. The Motion-plus enhances the Wiimote’s tracking ability, enabling you to be more accurate and precise. But is Nintendo’s latest gadget/game worth the cash? Read on to find out!

Sound: This game isn’t really that musically inclined, but it has a satisfactory amount of jaunty tracks for while you play. Sound: 7/10

Presentation: Looks slick and polished, but still generic. Presentation: 7/10

Gameplay: The Motion-plus accessory really makes this game shine. With Sword-play, Basketball, Airplane flying and more, the game does a great job in demonstrating all the different things the Motion-plus is capable of doing. My only gripe is that the calibration process for the Motion-plus is tedious and overly necessary. Gameplay: 9/10

Multiplayer: Some of the best fun to be had in the game is in multiplayer mode. This is especially true when playing the Airplane mode, because there is an extremely fun “Dog-fight” level which really tests you and your friend’s skill with the Motion-plus. The only downside is that to play multiplayer you have to buy another Motion-plus, with a hefty price tag of $20 a piece. Multiplayer: 9/10

Length: It all depends how much you like the Motion-plus and its features. This game will be a blast if you enjoy the extra sensitive motion-tracking, but if you don’t really get into it, the game’s fun ends very quickly. I personally found it really fun, and I got about 10 hours of pure enjoyment out of it. Length: 8.5/10

Overall: This game gets an 8.1/10! A good game that demonstrates the potential for Nintendo’s new device. And keep in mind that future games might make real use of the Motion-plus as well, so picking this game up could be beneficial in the long run.
